    1. That he's starting to go crazy.
    2. Philip had a panic attack.

    Because he sees how much pressure his mother is under because of the debt the Pub, and his father's death, and all the recent trouble Philip's been getting in, so we think that Philip likes the idea of dying because then there will be no stress and it'll just be like a slumber.
