  1. This video was very emotional and would be nice for a female to connect to the feminine subject.

  2. The idea of this powerful poem really connects to Toni Morrison's novel, The Bluest Eye. The performance of the piece and power in her words and voice made it all the more effective. I hope that through my personal journey with writing that one day I may be able to perform something that well.

  3. Radieza's morning reflection is of course every powerful. I am well informed on this topic already and I don't really know what to say about it. It was a great poem.

  4. This morning reflection was interesting. I liked how passionate she was about her poetry and her performance. The theme that she chose was extremely taboo, but she did it well.

  5. I chose Jasmin Mans piece because I am inspired by her. She is so deep and amazing. I can relate to her in so many ways, and think that it is incredible to express yourself in such a creative way.

  6. I liked today's morning reflection a lot. I liked how the performer had emotion when she was talking, and I liked how she added movements to the poem. I think this poem connects to The Bluest Eye in many ways. I think this poem describes how Pecola felt when she was raped. I also think that this poem should be included into The Bluest Eye. It would help the reader get a better grasp of the story.

  7. The poem Radezia presented for her morning reflection was really deep and powerful. The girl had so much emotion and it made it even better.

  8. This poem was extremely expressive as well as effective in addressing an overlooked modern issue. The tone and force of the presenter was what truly made the video work. It always seems to be a good sign when the mic seems to shatter under their tremendous voice. The detail in the poem marks an issue that never seems to go away, parallel to that of the delivery to the audience.

  9. I had seen this video before but it's still just as powerful as it was the first time I viewed it. You could tell the woman speaking was very passionate about what she wrote and the words she spoke, so it inspires me to write about more personal experiences and deeper subjects. I think this video tied in greatly with the unit we just started because the poetry cycle were reading is about something personal and we're going to start our own soon.
