  1. This morning reflection was really funny, as it spoke about things that truly writers go through. Writers do go through much criticism, even for the hardest work that they have completed. As a writer, we need to learn to accept criticism and to not listen to others opinions because we need to write what ever comes from the heart. If your writing comes from your heart, it is good writing because the best writing comes from the heart.

  2. As cringey as the outdated meme faces are, that was a video that nicely explained the points of effectiveness of criticism when it comes to writing. Sadly, a lot of writers (usually on the young side, sometimes not) take criticism as some sort of personal attack. Obviously there's BAD criticism, such as "This sucks", which isn't constructive in any way. Constructive criticism would be "This sucks because the writing is poorly structured, the characters are flat, it's littered with grammatical errors, etc.". This actually points out the bad instead of just calling the entire thing crap. Personally, I only ignore criticism if it's nothing of value or the critic comes off as a condescending snob or rude, because at that point I can't safely trust those people's judgement.

    1. Thoughtful comment. Who do you share your writing with?

    2. If you would let people read your Fire Emblem fanfic novel, we could give you constructive criticism.

    3. To Gamzon, I sometimes post it publicly or on my Tumblr. Other times I just share it in private places with my friends. Most of the time I just keep my work to myself, though.

  3. As I have seen a lot of thees videos to try and see what I shouldn't do to improve I feel like I have a better sense on when i'm being a bit unfair or stumbling onto the a cliche. This video as it states gave me tips on how not to deal with criticism.

    1. Thank you. This was an enjoyable video which made its point with humor. Loved slaying the trolls!

  4. Comedy is good, and this video shows how to perfectly deal with criticism as a writer: murder, dueling and internet arguing.

I'm a better writer, and a better man for having seen this.

  5. Very different from the other videos shown the previous days... It was amusing though. The video used comedy to get across the point that can criticism help you improve, but criticism merely stating "I don't like this" isn't worth your time.

  6. You can't be successful without taking criticism. You have to learn how to deal with it and understand that everyone has their own preference. Like when GaMzOn says my writing is garbage, it really isn't, but it's not what she likes.

  7. This video was interesting. I thought it was a bit dumb at first, but I started to like it as it went on. I only like when certain people criticize my work. Funny, I liked it.

  8. The video was interesting at first. It was telling us the opposite of what we should do. Criticism is important. Every write should have their work looked at at criticized, even if you think you don't need it. You do.

  9. The video was boring. The narrator was talking way too fast and what he was talking about wasn't really keeping my interest and attention. Although what he said about critics is true. We all want people to give feedback on our work but as soon as someone says something bad, we feel a hit to our ego and then suddenly there was no point in even asking for their opinion.

  10. I don't even know what I was watching. This did not catch my interest at all. Therefore, I just sat there bored. It was unlike the previous videos we have watched though and it had its amusing moments at least.

  11. The video was good and quite humorous. It showed how to deal with people who criticize other's work. Personally I like to pick fights who criticize my work because it is quite fun. :)

  12. The video was helpful for writers because being a writer can come with a lot of criticism. This video explains how to deal with criticism in a mature manner. When people give their opinions on your work, you should not base your work on peoples opinions because everyone will have completely different opinions on your work. As long as you like it, you should stick with your idea. But if your work is only describes as bad or that it needs more work, then you should consider revising.

  13. This was a different video from the rest of the video we previously watched. It was more on the humor side, but it had good advice. We need to accept criticism to make our writing better.
