African-American soldiers in WWI, life in the Mississippi Delta farming

4. Conflict:  Your story should have a significant conflict or incident that involves your characters.  Create a key moment for the characters to interact if possible.  Be sure to resolve the conflict.

5. DETAILS: As always, SHOW, DON'T TELL

  1. The video has a deep meaning. It's something pretty much everyone can relate to. Many kids, even adults are bullied everyday. The visuals for the video were a good representation of what was being told. Some people think it's easy to overcome their fears, depression, etc. Truth is, it's never easy to do that. The thoughts in your head take over and you don't know what to do anymore. It takes a long time recovering from all of it.

  2. To this day is one of my favorite poems and I feel like as someone who has been bullied and still am by random people I don't even know every now and then. It really makes me feel kind of sad yet motivated at the same time because I have been bullied for my weight ever since I was little. In fact last night some random person called me Porky last night. It didn't bother me too much. But I know its hard being bullied and hearing his motivational words of wisdom help in many ways. I think now this world is a lot more cruel than it was before. There are people who can and do say very cruel and disgusting things without thinking about how the other person feels. I feel its important to have people who don't say cruel things to people and lift their spirits and make them smile.

  3. The video was very interesting and the illustrations depicted the authors words perfectly. I feel as though not just children but older people as well go through bullying everyday. People who go through these things need to be reminded that they are better than what they say. Bullying is a worldwide epidemic and it is something that should be addressed.

  4. As a person who came home from a school day of constant bullying I know the effects of it are very hurtful to people so impressionable and young, but I must say that this way of thinking was more toxic for me growing up because as a child you don't have a deeper look into what you think is good it was like and equivalent of reaching for a straw of hay in a 30 foot needle stack, especially when it comes down to the physical aspect it's not about you entirely it's about this one thing, and when this one thing is gone it will keep happening. The thing I believe is more important is realizing that there's no fighting it and simply go back to sticks and stones, because it's showing that yes it hurts but to have the resilience to withstand what's thrown your way and though the physical may hurt and kill you, your words will never shake me, that concept to kids builds a good foundation and in my eyes makes them stronger rather then taking away all the bullying (which is bad and I wish was gone) creates stronger more resilient children but at the cost of emotional damage, rather then put a ban on words that otherwise spawn new words to mean the same thing, showing someone how to deal with it and how to fight back in a safe way (of course landed me a few bruises and a busted lip) may help to construct a bigger picure
