Todays morning reflection was showing how important it is to thank your parents because a lot of the sacrifices they made for you. Sometimes you might have even noticed. The videos main message was to show gratitude to your parents for everything they ever did for you.
ReplyDeleteToday's morning reflection was so heartfelt and sincere. Learning about the sacrifices that immigrant parents made to have a stable lifestyle for their children was so inspirational. This video inspired me to be thankful for my parents and everything they provide for me because often times, its everything they can offer.
ReplyDeleteI thought that today's morning reflection was very impactful. To hear how immigrant children felt about their parents and the sacrifices that they made for them was touching. I think it can sometimes be easy to forget the things that people had to give up so that they could come to America and start their new life. As a country we often have a romanticized view of immigration, but this video really helped illuminate the stories of immigrant parents.
ReplyDeleteThe morning reflection today was about Asian Immigrants and the sacrifices that they make for their children. The various different Asian cultures are represented in the video, from Indians to Chinese to Vietnamese. It was an interesting video to think about because it shows that we should be thankful for our parent s and all of the sacrifices that they make.
ReplyDeleteThe video I believe was vey moving it opened my eyes to what Asian immigrants or all immigrants have to go through when they live their country to go live somewhere else to try to have a better life for their family. They have to leave behind what really makes them, them, they leave behind contact with their family back home and the chance to actually live and endure their actually culture. It was just really moving, it gives a different perspective to help you understand more f what other people have to go through just to be a part of a country that you was born in. It might just be something that us Americans might not ever be able to understand, but hearing them explain the sacrifices that was committed just to come here is really mind blowing and very inspiring
ReplyDeleteToday’s morning reflection was interestingly different. It wasn’t the average problematic society issues. The fact that it had to do with an issue that we couldn’t relate to was cool. Asian immigration is something I obviously don’t think about on a regular but the video was insightful as to what they might have to go through. The way they talked about their struggle mad you appreciate their parents for them because you can tell they went through a lot. The part where they all thanked their parents was my favorite part.
ReplyDeleteI was very moved by this morning's reflection. We often don't know what sacrifices our parents make for us. Asians are now becoming the largest group of immigrants in America. Family is especially important in Asian communities and many parents make incredible sacrifices for their children. This video gave us an insight into the feelings of young Asian-Americans in regard to their parents--a heartwarming reminder about gratitude.
ReplyDeleteThis video was very sentimental, it gives you a earning respect for your elders not those of just one culture (Asian) but those who have sacrificed for there children of all raises. Being a teenager we don't know what its like to pay bill after bill and our wallets become as vast and empty as a black whole. Even when a check comes as a parent there is another bill on its way as well. Its a costly thing to be a parent, which comes with its perks like getting the little infants birthday money. But when they get older, sacrifices become greater and opportunities become slim.
ReplyDeleteI posted this video because I have a lot of friends, that are Asian, they tell me about what their parent had to go through just to come for America because their parents wanted them to have a better life then they do. This video helped me understand a little bit more about what my friends and what their parents go through. It was an eye opener and shows how we need to be thankful for our parents because we don't know what sacrifices they make.
ReplyDeleteToday's morning reflection was very inspiring to us teens. It showed that we should thank our parents more often. We don't know what our parents to for us and how much effort they put into doing that for us. We should all go and thank our parents. Family is very important.
ReplyDeletenever knew how much immigrants sacrificed to live a successful American life. All mothers and fathers do a lot for us to live a better life. We may not know how much they do or appreciate what they do for us but they would want whats best for us.

ReplyDeleteThis mornings video was very moving. Some of us aren't able to understand certain sacrifices that some parents make for there children and for them to have a better life. It was refreshing to realize that Asians are the most common to come to America because that's something we don't think about everyday.

ReplyDeleteA parent's love for their child is infinite. They will do anything they can to provide for them and make sure they grow up in a healthy and safe environment. The video was very emotional because when you grow up, you look back at all of the sacrifices and struggles your parents went through; especially when it was for their loved ones. You appreciate what they've done and hope to be able to pay them back.
ReplyDeleteThe video was very emotional and I can relate to that being that my mom had to abandon her family due to war and nearly died getting here. She hasn't for like 32 years haven't seen her family and she couldn't see her mother's funeral. It hurts when reflecting on the things parents had to do just to give kids a better life than they did even now, my mom believes of having a better life coming here and right now with living in poor conditions and not even having enough money to have real food, its tough.
ReplyDeleteToday's morning reflection showed us how immigrants struggle when they first come to the America's. Immigrants from Asia talked how their parents had to do sacrifices for them. The fact that they appreciate what their parents made for them makes me appreciate my parents for what they had done for me and how much they struggled when we first had came to the United States. Parents will do anything for their child even if they have to leave or hurt their loved ones and make sacrifices just to have their child to have a future ahead of them.

ReplyDelete9. In those situations, it's hard to make a decision because you want to do what's right but you also want to do what your heart wants. Either decision has an outcome, and knowing what it'll be is impossible. When making judgments, it's the same too. You don't know what will happen, you just do what feels right to you.
ReplyDelete10. The last chapter shows what happened to Ronsel after the incident, and how he goes through life and society around him. He feels like he's the example of what could happen to other people and feels like people pity him. Now that he's mute, life is even more tough on him. I think the author chose to write Ronsel addressing the readers to show that things like this really happened and show that he's probably the main voice even when he can't actually speak. I believe it'll be hard to live like that, but throughout all the obstacles that Ronsel's went through, he'll definitely find "something like happiness" at the end.
Todays morning reflection basically touched upon how much of a hardship it was for immigrants that came to America. People would judge them based off how they look and wear. Fear and judgment is our own worst enemy.
ReplyDeleteTodays morning reflection was very moving. It touched base on the children of Asian immigrants reflecting on what their parents did for them through their adaption in America, and the thanks they wanted to give them now. Asian families tended to struggle, as they did not receive the same respect or treatment as "American" families. This is unfortunately, still true. The video also highlighted how some children felt the pressure to be ashamed of their parents and their heritage, or how mothers were encouraged not to work, and families all had to work to support themselves. By having the children thank their parents at the end, it showed the immense amount of work a parent puts in to raising their child, and how the thanks given in return in endless.
