  1. At first didn't understand it but then he started telling his life story which was just great. I understood the hurt her felt I understood how bully victims fell I was one myself. That was just a great video, never seen might watch it again when I get home. Very touching, good job Thiery.

  2. it makes me think about all the people i've seen bullied and my own experiences. Yeah, it's true. the words and rejection do hurt and leave scars. But, it's what you make of yourself and what you decide to do with your talents that really defines you.

  3. This video was very deep and emotional, the person narrating was speaking with power and passion and just caught my attention. He wanted everybody to see that they were beautiful even if they didn't feel like they were. It's a very moving video and it gave me chills, I feel like this video speaks out to everybody.

  5. The video that Thiery shared with the class was definitely a powerful one. I don't even really know what to write, it left me speechless. One thing I will say is that it is something that should really be shown to the entire school, and something that should be discussed more.

I honestly don't know what to say. That video was extremely powerful. In my opinion, I don't believe we should have to write a response about this. I do believe it's a good conversation starter and Thiery did a FANTASTIC job at picking a video but we should actually have a good, full-class, conversation about what we just saw. I know I, as well as a few others others, got goose bumps from watching this video and if it effected others as much as much as it effected me than other people have opinions and stories and thoughts to share about it. We should have a discussion when a video is this powerful instead of writing a response that isn't going to really help anyone who has been through something like that. I mean all of this with no disrespect. I think writing responses are a good way to warm up our brains but I just don't believe this is a video that can just be responded to over a blog post.

  7. I'd probably have to watch it all again in order to fully take in everything that the man said in the poem, but my immediate reaction was that it was really vivid. I loved his sense of tempo and dynamics, and he had a very good grasp of suspense and tension. The words were really powerful of course and I don't want to ignore that, but just the way he talked was sort of entrancing. The drawings too were exquisite, and though I don't usually like illustrations accompanying words, I don't think the poem would have been quite complete without it. Overall, everything about it was extremely well produced, and I would look forward to watching it again so as to fully take in everything that was said.

  8. The slam poem "To This Day," was to me about depression and bullying and getting past such things as a child. Parts of the poem tell the story of a child nicknamed "Pork chop" because he did not know the difference between a karate chop and the item of food, which got him into trouble later on. The poem overall was a powerful thing to hear, and the video made it more appealing. The visuals linked well with the words said and delivered a message that was probably intended to impact everyone who watches it. It seems as though the author intended it to be powerful slam poem but also a powerful message of hope to anyone who may be going through such things such as depression or bullying, and anything else that may come before those things or after.

  9. i liked the video because it showed how people who get bullied can still grow up to have nice lives. The slam poem was very powerful and the author got his point across well. What made the slam poem good was that it was full of hope. Anyone who watches it will most likely feel something for the characters in the poem. Also, any adults who watch it may have flashbacks to an experience of their childhood when they were bullied. In conclusion, I thought the slam poem was very powerful and inspirational in a way.

  10. I don't think we should be writing a response. We just watched a video about bullying, and obviously the kids in the class were very impacted. Telling us to write a response to something like that is kind of ridiculous. This is the kind of thing we should talk about out loud.

  11. This video makes think of the anti-bullying laws and how much bullying is apart of our generation. It also makes me think that not only has bullying been around for a long time but it is now even worse because of all of our different technologies. With the internet being so popular the bullying may stop but now it is forever on the internet free to anyone with an opinion. Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, and Twitter are just some of many examples where people are exposed to the many levels to bullying.

  13. This video is very inspirational and very heart felt. A lot of emotions were brought up while watching this video. Bullying can be stopped but no one speaks up and when someone is getting bullied there is stuff going on at home. Its not about the clothes you wear or the crowd you hang out with, it is about who you are as a person. Don't try and fit in and don't change who you are as a person for anyone. Bullying needs to be stop and prevented because kids everywhere is getting bullied and they are not speaking up. Getting bullied is a painful experience, you feel like you are alone and you have no one to go to when you really do. All you can do is speak up and prevent someone else from getting bullied. This video was very powerful and meaningful. The man who spoke, spoke with aggression and anger in his voice. The video made you more aware of bullying and how it affects the person that is getting bullied.

  14. Well, I stumbled upon this video on accident. I was just browsing YouTube and there it was. I am very familiar with Shane Koyczan's work. When I saw he was the one who wrote it, I was just curious and decided to watch the video. This really stood out to me for SO many reasons. One of which he's obviously promoting "Non-Bullying". But, I just hope you guys like it, and let me know what you think!

  15. This video poem was very touching because even though everyone doesn't have a brutal story to tell about how our feelings were hurt or our lives were torn to two by someone who didn't care like we wanted them to. We all, in our own ways have a thought or a moment in the past that brings that pain to our hearts and that tear to our eyes while we relate to this poem. The images told the story alone but the words just sums it all up. Its not about being in that type of situation, but sometimes being the person on the outside looking in can hurt just as much. This poem was great and if the whole school seen this i believe people would think twice about taking that drug to take away the pain for a few hours, or think twice about bullying that little person because your parents didn't show you love today.

  16. After watching this Anti-Bully video I felt touched and a strong connection with the message. The authors voice was very outspoken and the words fell perfectly in place with the background music. The images were very creative and expressed the connections of all forms of depression. Overall i thought that this video was inspirational and successfully got the message across perfectly.

  17. This video was very sad yet touching. Bullying is everywhere and to hear this guy pouring his emotions and deep thoughts into his talent is inspirational.
