  2. Thoreau is advocating for the outdoors as an escape from industry by living in the simplest/pure human form. Of course, he reached this brilliant conclusion by not isolating himself/not following his advice and by living in a government funded cabin. There is one line that I find interesting: "Our life is frittered away by detail." Thoreau, throughout his essay, advocates for the simplicity of life in nature, or turning away from the smoke and cars. He concludes by talking about an awakening of the soul and a decision to return back to society, for he feels that this was just a part of his life/he has much more to live.

  3. I agree with Thoreau saying that one should live life in its simplest and purest form. Especially today, the way that people live their lives is distorted by this universal perception that one can only be content in life if they obtain a materialistic outlook on life. Making it their goal to constantly buying things despite their economic status. It would be much more simple if we could all live in cabin's and allow ourselves to bask in the nature that surrounds us, while not isolating ourselves from the world. As Thoreau did during his time living abode in the woods. Which made him realize the importance of simplicity of life, during the industrial age.

  4. Yes I do agree with Thoreau. I feel like people should live life to the fullest with no regrets. You only live once so living in the "simplest" "pure" form is the only way to live. Thoreau had a hard life growing up not having a roof over his head only trees living in the woods. So basically his point was be grateful. He was living under the government funding he don't want people to do the same that he did when he could've made something better out of the situation. people spend money stupidly and don't think about the future. There's more to life than materialistic things and if you think wisely. Thoreau have come to the conclusion that nature and spending time with yourself is a good strategies and not just separating yourself from he world actually get out and experience it.
