In the Lake of the Woods

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today we will begin our discussion of In the Lake of the Woods by Tim O'Brien (it is SO good.. I cannot stop reading it)

Agenda:

-Go down to the library and check out the book
-We will be reading the first two chapters as a class

• As we read, look for paragraphs or phrases that you find particularly interesting. Why do they strike you? 
• After reading other work by Tim O'Brien, what do you think we can expect to see in this novel as well?

-Also, we will briefly discuss the structure of the novel ( what does it mean to have three kinds of story happening within one text?)

-The second half of the class you will have to work on the completion of your magical realism stories
