  1. 1. Clarissa inst ordinary. She does however put a lot of effort into making it seem like she is ordinary. Sure. Shes not super interesting.
    2. The flowers were described during uncomfortable situations such as when Luis came to visit Clarissa and also when the bird dies.
    3. It happens to people who are more in-tuned to their surroundings and feelings along with the feelings of others. Richard is driven insane by his past and his condition; dying from aids.
    4. Society will generally affect everybody who is apart of it. The author, in my opinion, believes that even if you try to be an individual and fight conformity, you still become a slave to the majority.

  2. Jaymee and Austin
    5. Richard refuses to "act the role" and the consequence is death, as he jumps out a window. He acknowledges and accepts his condition for what it is.For the refusal to act the role, he ends up dead, but that is his choice.
    6. Richard kisses Clarissa, which is significant of their history and unresolved feelings. After all that time they are still tethered together.
7.The creative process is a way to gain self-validation. It is more of how each character analyses their past and their regrets.
    8. His need for self validation stems from his mommy feeling out of place and inadequate as a mother. Ms. Brown does not know how to handle her sons emotions and she feels disconnected.

  3. 5. I think that everyone goes through moments in their lives where they feel out of place. People want to fit in with society and play a role, but some don’t know where to fit in. Richard doesn’t want to play the role and dies because of it.
    6. Richard and Clarissa kiss showing that they still have feelings for one another.
    7. It tells us that everyone is creative in their own way, and that it takes time to get there.
    8. He needs to feel like he belongs.
