  1. I have not read many Vampire books, I tend to stay away from them. I did read Twilight just so I could say I did read it, and when I insulted it, I had some legitimate evidence to back myself up. I like when vampires and zombies and such are used in a comedic sense, like in the movie Warm Bodies, so I hope I enjoy Bloodsucking Fiends.

  2. I have not read any vampire books that I can remember. In some cases I have read books where vampires or vampire like creatures existed but they did not have any meaningful role. I don't have anything against them in particular and and looking forward to Bloodsucking Fiends.

  3. The morning reflection was trying to get a strong message across, trying to help us realize that we spend way too much time on our phones or on our laptops. Its stopping us from getting the full meaning of life, we aren't having the fun of playing outside like our grandparents or even parents did when they were younger. We need to stop being so anti social and try to meet new people and make new friends because we never know how important that new friend could be to you in the future.

  4. I have seen this video before and I really liked it. I am incredibly guilty of being glued to my phone and have made efforts to move away from it, but always go back. I think this generation of people is too dependent on their technology, because it is now mainly how we run the world. If we don't have our phone, we feel like a part of us is missing. I think what we really need to do is put everything into perspective, as this video did. Is looking at someone else's dumb Snapchat really that important? Or that post on twitter? Technology has provided many positives when it comes to communication, but it is also dumbing down the entire world when it comes to being with people and learning how to live life for real, and not off of a screen.

  5. In the video "Look Up," the speaker reminds us that there are more important things in life than social media devices. We should learn to put them down every once and a while so that we don't let life pass us by. For example, like in the video, you could miss a chance at a new relationship, or a lifelong friend that you will now never meet. I think that this video was very inspirational, and we should really pay attention to its message.

  6. Devices and technology are taking over our lives. People use their phones to escape reality and they tend to miss many opportunities. This technology that is so called useful and helpful prevents people from talking to one another and you tend to lack social skills. Everything he was saying is true but its the fact you have to have self control. You have to learn to balance technology and reality.

  7. I thought that the video was a strong message sending to our society now in the present time because everyone is always glued on their phones and theirs a lot of things we miss without uses our phones to find out what it is people think that our society now is a takeover because of how much people buy phones or how much they use them

  8. I haven't read any type of vampire books because ever since Twilight, I steer away from those type of books. But I do read vampire fan fiction (Some of those are way better) so I guess that counts. I do like when people make vampires as like some sort of comedy but I also like to be scared sometimes.
Morning Reflections: I understand the video a lot. I think that it's okay to have a phone and be on it but sometimes you have to take a break and put it down to enjoy life, you don't have to be on it 24/7 Unless you're at a party you didn't want to go to because you don't know anyone so carry on :)

  9. I thought that the video Look Up at a somewhat valid point, but in other ways over simplified the argument. In my opinion social media and the internet in general are incredible powerful tools that allow you to communicate over long distances and share great moments. It is also like everything else should be used in moderation and at the appropriate times. I definitely think that people should go to real social interaction before online interaction, but I think that the people that do that are in the minority.

  10. I have not read any sort of Vampire book yet, I'm kind of excited to see how the author would actually put this book together and stuff. I like the idea of vampires and other of creatures I just haven't read a book dealing with them I mostly just watch a lot of movies dealing with them. I just want to read the book and see how the author structured it and made the plot move along during the story.

  11. Other than the Twilight series, I haven't read any vampire books because I don't normally enjoy them. I was a fan of the story in the Twilight movies and books, but I can admit that they were poorly written. That series was purely creative writing, and I'm looking forward to the Bloodsucking Fiends book.

  12. This mornings reflection was very powerful for me. It is very refreshing to realize that we miss opportunities and todays knowledge because we focus to much on social media. People today don't realize that the more we spend looking down at our phones and spending to much time on social media we let life just pass us by not having a clue of the advantages we could have. Technology is good to the certain extent that you use it, we need balance.

  13. I haven't read any books except the twilight series and overall I think they were somewhat good and somewhat not well developed and as creative.

  14. I chose this video for the morning reflection because I felt it was a strong message. Nowadays, people rely too heavily on technology that they cannot have a decent conversation with a person. I feel technology is a positive thing however, people take advantage of it. They more so use it for validation etc.

  15. I don't like vampire movies or books because they always seem so cheesy and bad and when I actually look at them, they're so bad that I don't finish them nor do I want to. I hope that bloodsucking fiends will make me feel sympathetic towards the fact the myth of vampire is being ruined.
This morning reflection I understood it's message. I think that it would be okay for people to have sometime to get off their phone and enjoy life as it is.

  16. Overall, I haven't read that many vampire books except the Twilight series. However I did watch plenty of vampire movies. All of which usually carry the same characteristics about vampires such as, they cant go out at night, etc. I am interested to read this book though to see this version.

  18. I read the "Twilight" series in elementary school, those are the only vampire books I finished. I read some of "Bloodsucking Fiends" last year but I stopped because it wasn't appealing to me- guess I have to give it another go.

  19. Jasmina's morning reflection today was just awesome. Everything about it was so true. Today's society is so messed up with technology and social media. It’s like it’s a great thing that were so advanced but it’s taken over to a point where we don’t even communicate. I myself am just like that and this video helps me to acknowledge this as a problem. The part with the man and woman was great. As I was watching it, I’m thinking this is so cute and then it showed how we really are and it was like damn that’s messed up but its reality. “look up” shows what kind of people we could be if we stopped letting technology and social media take over.
