To See is to Feel
ReplyDeleteAnd to feel is to believe.
Must I believe everything I see?
In the twilight I stare at the sun
Wondering if I can go blind before it falls
So that in the light of day I don’t have to stare at society
And wonder the same.
I follow the cattle driven to slaughter,
Hoping to get blood in my eyes
And shield my being from the ignorance
That threatens to dissolve who I am
And melt my candle resolve
Into a malleable wax
I stare at the sun
I stare at the sun
Still I can see

ReplyDeleteMan o’ war
1000 times each summer
Off the coast beneath sapphire crests
Beneath eggshell foam and salt
The 50-meter whip
The cure lies with the poison
One living in the other
But sting will only hurt you
Until reunited with its home
I am writing a motif short story about a man who writes essays in an office building for a living, but really secretly loves to draw. Periodically, he makes certain sketches of what is going on in whatever moment of his life. Some of the images are metaphorical.

My story is about a man (Nolan) who has multiple personality disorder. He meets this girl while writing his memoirs and one of his personalities is madly in love with her while one despises her due to past experiences which he links to her existence. The motif is fear.
ReplyDeleteShana- I am writing a motif short story about a woman that loss her husband and now she is a single mother with two kids. She has to raise her two daughters on her own and deal with challenges she faces. I have two motifs love and lost. Similar to the lake of woods.

ReplyDeleteWhy does the girl cry at night?
ReplyDeleteBy Jamilah Barker
When the door’s closed
In the back of the closet
Holding herself together as she falls apart
Why does no one care the girl cries at night?
Walking past her room
Too distracted to care
Too indifferent to hear the muffled cries
Why doesn’t she cry during the day?
While she acts like she’s ok
And tries to hide the hurt showing through
Her glassy eyes
This is the Kim Addonizio Poem
My short story is historical, dating back to the times when the plague the black death was rampant. A young girl has to care for both her mother and father when they fall ill to it just as the rest of her small town.
