Spirit in the Night
ReplyDelete“All alone, on my own, can’t go home”
Flash paint flashes around the circuit
enclosed in bars and arcades
They’re all electric
Power in sound
And a groove somewhere
I searched and searched, almost defeated
As I stood over the water
Between Marie and the Palace
She took two dollars and my pockets were dry
I was still dry
And she might have just lied to me
But the Big Man joined the band
I could
Sit back right easy
and laugh
And bust the city in half

ReplyDeleteA day as a family
Is at the park
With a pinic blanket and cover
He runs after the stray cat and I wait
He arrives and kisses me on the cheek
The two males share eye contact
I pick up the baby and kiss him as he laughs
The male looks with joy to see me and my son
My child is like his father I tell him
As he shows the man that he is the only one in my heart
It’s caught feelings as if I stare at this man
He can sense it as he plays ball with Nate
O Jacob come to me
At the need we pack up
He holds my hand and carries Nate with the other hand
The one and only day we were a whole happy family
It’s Hard to say goodbye!
I walk in the door to hear my baby run to me
With smiles on his face
His eyes glisten with hope love and joy
How could god want to take me away from this?
It rains at night as I lay on the floor near my bed holding his teddy bear
And I cry softly
I’m to tired to cook him breakfast but I do it out of love
I brush his hair back and hold him tightly
He looks at me with confusion and I look at him with pain
How can I say goodbye
So I sit down and watch every little move his body makes
“Mommy loves you more than anything”
I say as I put on his bag and shoes
“I love you too mommy”
I hold him tight and cry out loud
He runs to his bus and I tumble to my bed
I cry as I watch him climb on to the bus to the other kids
I can hear him echoing, “I love you mommy”
I hold his picture close to my heart
His teddy bear in my eyes
I shut my eyes and drift off to sleep
